Dr. Claire Seaton

Dr. Claire Seaton received her medical degree from the University of Oxford, UK, and completed her Pediatric Training with a focus on Respiratory Medicine at Oxford and London in the UK, as well as a Pediatric Respirology Fellowship at BC Children’s Hospital (BCCH), Vancouver. She is a hospitalist general pediatrician at B.C. Children’s Hospital, Co-Medical lead of the BCCH Asthma Clinic and Clinical Associate Professor at the University of British Columbia (UBC). She was the founder and director of the Pediatric Hospital Medicine Fellowship Program at UBC (2020 – 2025). She is a fellow of the Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (Pediatrics).

Dr Seaton’s clinical work and research interests have intersected to focus on Knowledge Translation, Quality Improvement, Implementation Science and Education, with a particular focus on common pediatric respiratory conditions. She is an Implementation Science Scholar affiliated with the SFU-UBC Implementation Science Training Initiative. Her work in collaboration with Choosing Wisely Canada, TREKK (Translating Emergency Knowledge for Kids), ChildHealth BC, BC Guidelines and the BC RSV Immunoprophylaxis Program is focused on improving standards of care, staff training, and patient and family’s engagement with common pediatric conditions such as Asthma and Bronchiolitis.
