Bios for medical experts featured in Q&A videos

DR. CHRISTOPHER RYERSON, a respirologist and interstitial lung disease specialist at St. Paul’s Hospital. He did his internal medicine residency and respirology fellowship at the University of British Columbia, and subsequently completed an interstitial lung disease fellowship and a Masters degree at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Ryerson is chair of the Canadian Registry for Pulmonary Fibrosis and has contributed to multiple international consensus statements and clinical practice guidelines on the topic of fibrotic interstitial lung disease. His research focus is on the symptomatic and physiologic manifestations of fibrotic interstitial lung disease, and how these limitations can be improved with non-pharmacological  therapies. 

DR. NASREEN KHALIL, a clinical professor of medicine in the Division of Respiratory Medicine at the University of British Columbia and is the director of the Interstitial Lung Diseases Clinic at the Vancouver General Hospital. Her research interests have been the mechanisms of pulmonary fibrosis. Dr. Khalil seeks partnerships to develop a pharmaceutical agent for treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. She is also running 4-5 clinical trials on the treatment of IPF.

DR. PAT CAMP, an Associate Professor in the UBC Department of Physical Therapy and a Clinician-Scientist in the Centre for Heart Lung Innovation.  Dr. Camp’s research is focused on pulmonary rehabilitation for hospitalized patients with a flare-up of lung disease) and pulmonary tele-rehabilitation (with a specific focus on remote and rural Indigenous communities).  She holds grants from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, Michael Smith Foundation for Lung Health, the BC Lung Association, and industry.
