Carter’s Camp empowers children with asthma to:
- Prevent asthma flare-ups
- Recognize asthma symptoms when they first occur; carry out appropriate management steps
- Discuss, solve asthma-related problems with parents, teachers, medical professionals, teachers, and friends
- Feel more confident, using everyday tips to manage their asthma
- Decrease their school absenteeism due to asthma
We are also offering a travel subsidy for qualified registrants living 75km or more from a Carter’s Camp location.
Kids who live with asthma can breathe better, and lead healthier, happier lives – they just need to learn how.
Asthma Camp on the Road
With the ongoing success of both Carter’s Project and Asthma Education Camp, in 2026, BC Lung has launched Carter’s Camp – an asthma education camp that travels to rural communities, offering this unique educational opportunity to kids living with asthma.
Carter’s Camp will enable BC Lung to reach more children than ever, equipping them with invaluable knowledge about their condition while also teaching them about the importance of air quality monitoring.
Carter’s Camp will be integrated into Carter’s Project, allowing us to offer free air quality monitors, DIY air cleaners, and asthma and air quality education to the communities that need it most.
