Tom DeSorcy

Tom is the BC Lung's Board Chair and has been a Director since he was elected in 2001. Tom joined the fire service in 1983 and became the first paid firefighter in his hometown of Hope, BC when he became fire chief in 2000, retiring in 2023. Tom is a former broadcaster and current podcaster, host, voiceover talent, and peer support team member. Involvement with BC Lung is a “legacy” for Tom as his mom was a Director since 1966, so he witnessed the benefits of the organization from a very early age. A foodie at heart, Tom is married with children and grandchildren, and also enjoys curling and golfing with friends in his leisure time.
