On the evening of November 7th, 2025, BC Lung Foundation’s annual Wonder Gala took place at the stunning Terminal City Club in Vancouver. This year’s gala transported guests into a glamorous, art deco inspired Casino Royale soirée, featuring classic casino games, a silent auction filled with exciting prizes, a refined four-course plated dinner. The event included the presentation of two esteemed lung health awards: the Dr. Peter Paré Award of Excellence in Lung Health was presented to Rick Medley, and the Award of Excellence in Lung Health Research was presented to Dr. Marie Wright.
To raise dollars to support BC Lung, The Wonder Gala also featured and an inspiring Fund-a-Need moment. Due to the success of both Asthma Education Camp and Carter’s Project in 2025, the hope is to increase both program’s impact and further support lung health for all British Columbians.
In 2026, BC Lung will be launching ‘Carter’s Camp’! This on-the-road asthma education camp will be a new addition to Carter’s Project, providing children with asthma who live in rural communities with access to a free, fun, educational camp that will teach them how to manage their asthma and focus on being a kid.

In total, the event has raised $95,970 and counting to support Carter’s Project and Carter’s Camp.
