Province takes action to prevent sale of nicotine products to youth

A big win in BC! Yesterday, it was announced that the province will require nicotine pouches to be sold only by a pharmacist on a non-prescription basis. The BC Lung Foundation applauds the Provincial Government and Ministry of Health for taking meaningful action towards reducing the recreational use of nicotine-cessation products among youth and protecting kids in British Columbia from the dangers of nicotine. We hope to see further action to reduce youth access to tobacco and vapour products moving forward, such as implementing a Smoke-Free Generation policy, which will ensure that future generations never have access to harmful tobacco and nicotine products.
